This is the main reason they want to get dual nationality. Plus people like Hussain Haqani and Wajid Shamsul Hasan will only be the beneficiaries of this law.
I am Pakistani expatriate living abroad with dual nationality. I also suggest that there should be no member of parliament with dual nationality. This create serious conflict of interest and in Pakistani Politics with all funds resting in few hands, it is disaster. One can easily leave country and get refuge in foreign countries and we don't have extradition treaties with many many countries. Can any one bring Altaf or Musharaf back. Don't mess the situation more and muddy the water.
I live in Europe, but I don't want to allow Dual nationals to sit in Pakistnani parliment. Only voting rights are enough. Bcoz I can't comply with the oaths for both countries similtaneously.

There must not be any ban on the overseas pakistanis to take part in elections. It is true that currently only selfish and cheaters are elected from overseas due to corrupt internal system of Pakistan. Mr. Raza Hayat Haraj, I want to correct you, I am a duel national with pakistani and canadian nationality and I have full right in Canada to take part in elections. When the internal system of Pakistan will be honest, no corrupt from overseas will become parlimenterian.
Very soon Parliament will pass the bill allowing politicians to keep dual nationality and stay in Parliament.

Actually 10% Pakistani having dual nationality 90% remittance are coming from Pakistani working abroad they are on work visa.Most of the cases their family is living in Pakistan and for monthly expenses they are sending money.and one day they will came back to Pakistan.
Mostly Dual national Pakistani living in USA,UK,Canada, and Australia they are living with family and they are sending money occasionally.
I am also settle in Canada for my generation is Ok I have interest in Pakistani politic but my children grown up abroad they have least interest in Pakistan and Pakistani Politic,even my children refuse to apply for Pakistani National ID card.
Raza Hiraj has strong arguments whereas Wasim Akhter is trying to prove his case with lies. He is supporting the issue since his leader his British National and many of their members are holding foreign nationalites.
There is a clear conflict of interest and Saad Rafique rightly said that it is not possible for a foreign national to justify his election as he can not live in Pakistan for longer period since his business interest are outside of PAKISTAN. I also fully agree with Saad Rafique that to accquire a British Nationality once has to take long before 1973. I have taken part in British politics for 40 years and I have property in Pakistan but I still believe a dual national should not hold an office in Pakistan.
MQM, ANP, Taliban, PPP/ Aman Committee, they all exist in Karachi. They're all terrorists. Run them out of Karachi, and things will be fine. Especially the influx of people from KPK and Tribal areas has further inflamed the situation in Karachi. They brought their own culture of violence. As a Punjabi living in Karachi, I'm more afraid of ANP than MQM. These ANP terrorists are drug addicts and brutal. If you look at then with the wrong eye, they will literally drill in your eye. My friends cousin was a victim of it.

So the argument that since XYZ can vote, hence he can be member of parliament, is devoid of any logic whatsoever!
Having dual nationality, or stakes outside Pakistan, and being a member of Parliament (I would go as far as saying 'any public office holder') is a clear conflict of interest. If one's interests are not 100% in Pakistan, he wouldn't care for Pakistan and would most likely not be sincere to his job or the country, because he has the "get out of jail free" card.
Also, having interests/assets outside the country makes the person prone to foreign pressures and blackmailing as well which we see happening all the time when foreign delegations meet our politicians who one day are raising hue and cry and the day after the meeting seem totally silent.
And how many of the Pakistanis abroad want to come back JUST for participating in Politics??? It's the corrupt mafia already in politics that wants to use dual nationalities so that they can ditch Pakistan as a sinking ship when they get in trouble… And THAT is for who PPP and it's crony parties want to change this law for.

This is the main reason they want to get dual nationality. Plus people like Hussain Haqani and Wajid Shamsul Hasan will only be the beneficiaries of this law.
I am Pakistani expatriate living abroad with dual nationality. I also suggest that there should be no member of parliament with dual nationality. This create serious conflict of interest and in Pakistani Politics with all funds resting in few hands, it is disaster. One can easily leave country and get refuge in foreign countries and we don't have extradition treaties with many many countries. Can any one bring Altaf or Musharaf back. Don't mess the situation more and muddy the water.
I live in Europe, but I don't want to allow Dual nationals to sit in Pakistnani parliment. Only voting rights are enough. Bcoz I can't comply with the oaths for both countries similtaneously.

The news out there is that Miss Sana Bucha has resigned from Geo following the inclusion of Mr.Amir Liaquat Hussain. ( no official confirmation).
Iftikhar Ahmed as welll as Najam Sethi have also reported to have serious concerns and might follow Miss Bucha. ( However, this cannot be confirmed).

Actually 10% Pakistani having dual nationality 90% remittance are coming from Pakistani working abroad they are on work visa.Most of the cases their family is living in Pakistan and for monthly expenses they are sending money.and one day they will came back to Pakistan.
Mostly Dual national Pakistani living in USA,UK,Canada, and Australia they are living with family and they are sending money occasionally.
I am also settle in Canada for my generation is Ok I have interest in Pakistani politic but my children grown up abroad they have least interest in Pakistan and Pakistani Politic,even my children refuse to apply for Pakistani National ID card.
Raza Hiraj has strong arguments whereas Wasim Akhter is trying to prove his case with lies. He is supporting the issue since his leader his British National and many of their members are holding foreign nationalites.
There is a clear conflict of interest and Saad Rafique rightly said that it is not possible for a foreign national to justify his election as he can not live in Pakistan for longer period since his business interest are outside of PAKISTAN. I also fully agree with Saad Rafique that to accquire a British Nationality once has to take long before 1973. I have taken part in British politics for 40 years and I have property in Pakistan but I still believe a dual national should not hold an office in Pakistan.

So the argument that since XYZ can vote, hence he can be member of parliament, is devoid of any logic whatsoever!
Having dual nationality, or stakes outside Pakistan, and being a member of Parliament (I would go as far as saying 'any public office holder') is a clear conflict of interest. If one's interests are not 100% in Pakistan, he wouldn't care for Pakistan and would most likely not be sincere to his job or the country, because he has the "get out of jail free" card.
Also, having interests/assets outside the country makes the person prone to foreign pressures and blackmailing as well which we see happening all the time when foreign delegations meet our politicians who one day are raising hue and cry and the day after the meeting seem totally silent.
And how many of the Pakistanis abroad want to come back JUST for participating in Politics??? It's the corrupt mafia already in politics that wants to use dual nationalities so that they can ditch Pakistan as a sinking ship when they get in trouble… And THAT is for who PPP and it's crony parties want to change this law for.
