I think salim safi a very good journalist and he is bringing out the facts from russia invasion to today nov 2012 .He should write a book from russia to america and pakistan and afghanistan . it will an academic
peice of work and it will equal or better then ahmed rashid book on taliban .I think when the america livesin 2014 there will be a civil war in afghanistan and pakistan will have to pay a terrible price for that

US is in Afghanistan because of 911. Osama bragged about his foreknowledge of the attacks. The Taliban were facilitation training camps for militants from all over the world. Being the chief suspect, US, for months asked the Taliban govt to hand Osama over for trial. They would not do it. After months of negotiations, the US invaded Afghanistan to get rid of Tailban government who they believed were protecting Osama (who, by the way did not mind US assistance while fighting the Soviets!!).
Now, imagine militants from India sneaking into Pakistan, hitting/bombing/killing Pakistani civilians and military personnel and running back to India. What will Pakistan do? Ask India to stop them or else. If India was unable/unwilling/playing games and did not stop them Pakistan would, if they had drones, go after them or not?
When you cross the border into another country to hit your real or perceived enemies, you put the security of your country at risk. Security of Pakistan comes first.
So, 3000 American citizens are murdered, Osama claims foreknowledge, and Taliban protect Osama. How can you not expect the US to not to take action?
Surely Pakistanis and Muslims do not condone or support killing of innocents. If our innocents are sacred, so are others. Besides, we do not take our lessons in moral ethics from our enemies as we claim to live and die by our Deen which does not support killing of innocents.

Fact remains fact. The True presentation of Puktuns to support Taliban because they really gave the respect to sharia law. Of course there were many flaws in the implementation but even then it was the start and the whole nation was united under one flag just in a period of 6 years.
Pukhtuns can easliy be united under the flag of Islam. They easily trust it but during the previous MMA government this trust has broken and they are not trusting even them because they are now mature enough.
They like Commitment which is to stand by what you have said and don't play around. Thats the reason they love PTI "Imran Khan" because he is a man of his word.
Even if Imran Khan has played breaking his words he would lose his political background.
The nature of Puktuns is simple & straight forward. They will destroy everything unless you convince them on Islamic Point of view otherwise they don't care.
The political parties like ANP are not the true representative of Puktuns because they for their own benefit and party's interest to come again & again bow down their should to American's interest in alliance with government. This is the last play for this party and a Golden Chance for PTI to establish their steps.
ANP has lost their political grounds.
MMA has lost their political grounds.
JUI has lost their political grounds due to Fazal ur Rahaman flexible attitude.
So only Jumate Islami would give a tough time to PTI. But still Puktuns love PTI "Imran Khan" for their clear vision and straight forward approach.
Saleem Safi is providing the clear image of Puktuns and their love for Afghanistan & Taliban. They are naturally tied in cultural bonds & Islamic Ideology.
